NYU Remains Undefeated After Second Weekend of Play

By Gabby Rossi

This weekend, the Violets took on the U.S. Naval Academy for their third game of the season and continued their winning streak with a final score of 6-2.

At the end of the first period, NYU trailed by one, but recovered about halfway into the second with a goal from captain Jake Geller, assisted by senior David Rosales. Ending the game with a strong third period, the Violets went on to score five more times, with a goal each from James Long, Jackson Oleson, Isaac Davison, and two from Adam Peck. Credited with the assists are Mac Brice, Elias Cohen, and John Dorio, respectively.

Adam Peck is currently ranked fourth in the ACHA with 2 goals and 4 assists for an average of 3 points per game, and Mac Brice is ranked thirteenth with 2 goals and 5 assists for an average of 2.33 points per game.

“Navy plays a hard brand of physical hockey,” said Geller, “so getting that win with a strong third period performance gives us a lot of momentum going into conference play this weekend.”

The Violets look to continue their winning streak this weekend when they host Syracuse University on October 15  at 9pm & October 16 at 6pm, both at Chelsea Piers Sky Rink.
